Win £50 worth of B&Q vouchers with The Cottage Smallholder and Direct Line Grand Draw
Posted by Fiona Nevile in Cottage tales | 65 commentsFor those of you who missed out on the metal bedstead competition: we’ve got another great prize to offer you! This time we’re teaming up with Direct Line home insurance to give you the chance to win one of two B&Q vouchers worth £50!
Like most people these days, I review all of our insurance policies annually. Looking at all the options can be time consuming but definitely worth doing as it can save a lot of money. I use the comparison sites first to get the general lay of the land and then I look at the companies that are not listed on comparison sites. To date I have generally gone with insurers that are not listed on comparison sites as they can offer tweaks and deals that meet our needs exactly.
Direct Line is not listed on any comparison site and is one of the most trusted insurers in the UK. They realise the value that we put on the contents of our homes – that’s why they are offering a prize of a couple of £50 of B&Q vouchers for two lucky winners to add something special to their own home.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave a comment telling us how you’d spend the £50 voucher; every entrant will be put into our random selection software and the winner will be notified by e-mail. So please check your email on Tuesday May 22nd 2012 to see if you are one of the lucky winners!
Cottage Smallholder/Direct Line Grand Draw Terms and Conditions:
Delivery will be within 28 days of receiving the winner’s address. Prize draw open to customers and non-customers aged 18 or over who are UK residents. Draw is not open to employees of RBS Group Companies, their families or anyone associated with this draw. Proof of eligibility must be provided on request.
The two prizes are £50 worth of B&Q vouchers and the prize includes postage to winners’ UK addresses. Promotion runs from Tuesday May 8th 2012 and all entries must be received by 11.59pm on Monday May 21st 2012 latest.
Winners will be drawn at random at the end of the promotion. If a prize remains unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner the promoter will be entitled to dispose of the prize as it sees fit without any liability to the winner for having done so.

I’d give it to my OH to put towards the new shed he is going to put up. I think (?) he’d be pleased! x
Me? Compost. I always need compost!
Hello Fiona and Danny. My Mum and Dad have always been wonderful parents to me, and when I got married, to their new son-in-law as well. They are they kindest and least selfish people I know, whose greatest pleasure in life is making other people happy. If I won a prize, I would give it to them as a small thank you for everything they have done for us.
Im currently building a summerhouse, and so I’d spend it on nails, paint, and roofing material
I would buy a small waterbutt or similar container so I could make liquid comfrey fertilizer as I just discovered today that the mystery plant growing behind my compost bin is actually comfrey.
We’ve finally got an allotment after a very long waiting list, so would definitely spend it on things for the allotment – we need a hoe, and we’re putting up a shed which needs painting.
Definitely gardening stuff, I’d really like a new pair of lawn edging shear thingys, we have three pairs, all other people’s cast offs, none of them work for more than two hacks before they go wonky…it does my head in, they have been thrown across the lawn many times. Other people have lovely ones, why can’t we???
I’d use it to buy things I need for my new allotment!
I would use it to get a few bits towards building a wood burning oven in the garden
I’d spend the voucher on a Japanese maple in B&Q’s garden section!!! I really want one!
