Kreativ Blogger Award
Posted by Fiona Nevile in Cottage tales | 14 commentsMoonroot has given me the Kreativ Blogger award. She writes a great blog, that always guarantees good and interesting read. Thank you, Moonroot.
The rules are simple. Nominate six blogs that you believe deserve this award and also list six things that you like.
Blogging awards are a good idea.
Writing a blog can be lonely, as I discovered over the past two years or so. Sometimes I find real gems that are unheralded amongst the more established blogs.
So tonight I’d like to share some blogs that I really enjoy but that you might not yet have had the luck to discover.
These six get my enthusiastic nomination for the Kreativ Blogger award they are in no particular order:
Many months ago, Ancel from Pacha Mona visited my blog and since then I have dropped by every now and then to submerge myself in a life on the other side of the Atlantic.
Witty, urbane and well worth a visit, Around Britain with a Paunch is fun and educationalish.
The Sunday Roaster. Good tips and great style.
Sylvie at A pot of a Tea and a Biscuit writes a great foodie site and has just celebrated her blogs first birthday.
Sam over at Glanbrydan’s Weblog is full of energy, working whilst setting up another business – selling home cooked food at a farmers market at the weekends.
The Garden Diaries of Amalee Issa is a well established blog written by a fellow Virgo. Superb gardening posts with some great quirky posts about the world beyond Amalee Issa’s gardens.
Six things that I like a lot:
- Turning off the alarm clock and cuddling the Min Pins and Danny.
- Banking large cheques
- A day pottering in my garden, whatever the weather
- Guzzling my own home cured bacon
- Foraging for food
- Escaping into a good book

Congratulations on your award. Thoroughly deserved. I love how dynamic your blog is and feel enormously honoured that you chose to nominate The Paunch for an award. We’re very humbled and will think carefully before passing the award on to 6 brilliant bloggers.
I’ve already been amazed by the visitors who have taken your recommendation and visited our blog.
Top stuff.
A well deserved award, I make sure I take time every day to enjoy your blog. I’m sure there are many other readers like me who love to visit but rarely comment. Please keep up the good work.
Congratulations on your Award. As you know I have been reading your blog for ages now and look forward to seeing your page every day. I also like two other things about your blog – NO DISTRACTING MUSIC – and you always leave a personal acknowledgment to your commenters if you have time, very much appreciated. x
First of all congrats to you and thank you so much Fiona. I feel very excited to be amongst such a great list of bloggers that you have passed this award on to.
Thanks for recommending “The Sunday Roaster” and congrats on the award – you certainly deserve it. My medicore little blog isn’t exactly in the same class I reckon!
Nice list of 6 six things too – one I can relate too. I must try making bacon myself one of these days; finally got a crock big enough for a serious piece of meat, but only been doing brisket so far (which reminds me, I really must blog about that … 🙂
Oh – more blogs to add to my list! And a reminder that I haven’t looked in on Amalee Issa for ages!
Thanks Fiona!
Off to potter in the garden! 🙂

A well-deserved award! I’m just a bit worried that you have given me 6 excellent new blogs to read, thus taking up even more of my working day 🙂
Hi Fiona
Like Linda I too read your blog every day and love it – your enthusiasm is great. Because of arthritis I can no longer garden but can do so through yours and other blogs and this gives me a lot of pleasure. Thank you.
So sorry that I’ve not left a comment before. Please don’t feel lonely. Your readers are out there, if silent.
Yours is one of the blogs I read every day, and one of the things I really like is that you do post every day – I’ve got into loads of others who drop off with no explanation. Really annoying.
You helped me the other day without knowing it. We had been thinking, off and on, of having some hens. This is despite my childhood memories of coming out of a farm henhouse every day in the summer holidays, and scratching afterwards. Fleas?? The farm belonged to my aunt and uncle, and I spent several summers there on my own with them. It was a 40acre rented mixed farm, so lots of interest for a child, but a very small living. You mentioned that hens do not like having wet feet, and we realised that, for much of the winter, our garden is just too wet. We have had to have raised veg beds to prevent stuff drowning!! We are on a north facing hill in Pembrokeshire, and this summer it has rained so much here I am starting to take it personally. Even after three or four days without rain, we still slip taking kitchen compost to the heaps at the bottom of the garden, going east to west.
Looking forward to lots more interesting stuff!
Thanks Fi!
Really touched by that.
Sam
