Happy Christmas everyone

Just a brief post to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas. My mum treated us to a wonderful Christmas lunch at the Bedford Lodge Hotel complete with crackers and those clever long balloons that drifted around the dining room ceiling wailing as they lost their air. These were politely returned to the tables from which they’d been launched. My first balloon didn’t make its first flight as it was accidentally punctured by the holly on my mum’s Christmas pud!
But then disaster struck (don’t ask) and I finally limped home at the end of an eleven hour day. I repaired to bed and woke just now to find the laptop chugging away beside me with the title and the first sentence written.
I do hope that everyone had a happy and peaceful day.

Hello Sheryl
I’m so pleased that you are enjoying the site. Yes I agree there’s nothing like a homemade present!
You will have fun with your dehydrator, guaranteed!
hi there and happy christmas!
just wanted to say thanks for this fantastic website. onlyfound it in september when looking for some preserving recipes but now come on here every few days and catch up with whats going on. We too had a quieter christmas this year, going to stay with my parents, 2 brothers, fatherinlaw and great aunt/uncle- all of whom i gave a hamper to as their main xmas present – including your fantastic crabapple jelly, spiced apple butter, apple jelly and sloe gin…to mention just a few. these went down SOOO well, it is very true that homemade gifts are more appreciated!. so thanks again and i can’t wait for my food dehydrator to arrive so i can continue to experiment!
Hi Kate (UK)
Wow cooking for 10! I’m impressed.
We have lots of ham and Stilton to enjoy.
Happy Christmas.
Hi Shelley
