Happy Christmas everyone

Just a brief post to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas. My mum treated us to a wonderful Christmas lunch at the Bedford Lodge Hotel complete with crackers and those clever long balloons that drifted around the dining room ceiling wailing as they lost their air. These were politely returned to the tables from which they’d been launched. My first balloon didn’t make its first flight as it was accidentally punctured by the holly on my mum’s Christmas pud!
But then disaster struck (don’t ask) and I finally limped home at the end of an eleven hour day. I repaired to bed and woke just now to find the laptop chugging away beside me with the title and the first sentence written.
I do hope that everyone had a happy and peaceful day.

will give you all the details; has beome a bit of an addiction, though less so for the children as they reach the lovely teenage years!
we aim to find our 400th cache this week… only 26 to go!
Cookathon over- until next weekend. Made enough food today to feed the 10 around the table and the two of us for at least the next two days.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Hello JaneH
Great that you had a good time. £250 in tips must have made it worth working the Christmas shift. Thanks for dropping by.
Hi Joanna
Our Christmas meal in a hotel was a first too. The Country and Weston dance sounds tremendous fun!
Hello Eileen
Hope that the password problem is sorted now. If not get in touch through the contact us tab.
Hi Scots Mary
Thank you for being so complimentary about the site. My best discovery for 2009 was my dehydrator.
Hello Shelley
We gave and received less this year and it was fine as we really had to think what we wanted.
Well done introducing crackers to France. They are always such fun.
The treasure hunting sounds great fun. How do you do it?
Hi Barney
I’ve never worked on Christmas Day, poor you but glad that you had the evening off.
Our Christmas was pretty quiet too but that was perfect for me. It’s funny but I always wish for a big get together but as our family is small that is impossible. We always have a good time. This is the one time of the year that we watch telly, the advertisements make us feel like Methuselah! Bubbly always gives the day a lift.
I was at work this year but the evening was very quiet and relaxed. Our son has gone to stay with his sister this year so only the two of us. The very bouncy 4yr old grandson visited briefly then it was slouching round with a nice bottle of fizz.
I thought not having the house full was going to be awful but it was’nt it was just different in a nice way.
Hope you are well and glad to hear you had a good Xmas day!
We also had a lovely day. Our children has considerably less pressie this year and nothing electronic at all. despite this they were thrilled with everything and have spent the day making things and playing happily. The best pressie was a box of ugh jelly beans each; for every colour one nice and one really yuk flavour ie rotten egg! What fun they had!
Later our fav neighbours came over with their kids and we let them have a cracker each; fascinating seeing kids (and adults)who had never seen a cracker (they dont have the:m in france)
Today we have had a fun day geocaching (gps treasure hunting) south of us.
Hi Eileen – are you trying the new password that I emailed to you on Thursday? I sent the email again just now. If you cannot see it, please check your spam folder.
Yes, love the site, but still can’t sign in with the new passwork you allocated me. Why so difficult? Am I doing something wrong. Don’t think so because I’ve tried zillionz of times
Hi Everyone
Christmas is over and another year is almost gone – of to the Highlands to see in the new year with family and make them some grate treats – my best find this year was this great site – soooooooooooo many fantastic receipts and tips – what was your best find for 2009?
Mary
A strange day for us, the first without guests or children in over 23 years but we went to a hotel and listened to a quartet – very civilised. We were then invited to a do that started at 9pm, had no idea what it was we were going to but turned out the orphanage director had bought us tickets to see a country and western band with a dance. Interesting and very impressed with the young men who could whizz around the floor dancing properly, more tea-dance style than country and western and certainly not line dancing.
Fiona
sounds like you had a busy day, intrigued about the limping home bit. We had a lovely day at home with three generations of family with my eldest daughter finishing work at a civilised 6.30pm from the pub/restaurant having made a total £250 tips! what generous people!!
enjoy your day
Jane
