Fiona is ill and her daily posts have been interrupted

Hello, everybody – it’s Danny here.

Fiona has been ill for the past few days and I have confined her to bed, with many cups of tea ( omygawd, she is such a demanding patient! )

No, that last bit is just a joke. Almost J

Her blog will be three years old in August and she has recently posted her 1,000th article. That is a great achievement, to her credit. So please excuse her now for missing a few days. Her laptop is also languishing – crashing after half an hour.

Then again, she has divulged her password to me, so maybe I will have some fun!

Maybe she has swine flu? Possibly. But you know that it could be a combination of avian flu and swine flu.

Yes?

Pigs might fly !!!!

OK, I will get my coat .  . . . . . .

PS: my spuds are now twice the size of John Coe’s.

What should I do ????

  1. Oh please feel better fiona!

Remember, lots of fluids – water, juice, broth, tea, soup- lots of rest, and as much as we love to read your daily posts, we’ll wait until you’re better. There are enough sunny days that it won’t matter a bit if you miss a few in bed.

Danny – keep up the good work! Its lovely to hear from you & I love your humor!!

Min Pins- you know what to do. Its a tough job, but please keep an eye on them for us, we care for them dearly. At least until you figure out how to blog yourselves.

    Thinking good thoughts-

Hello Danny/Fiona – and so sorry to hear of Fiona’s illness. I had feared the worst, and thought the PC had met with its final blue screen of death…..

Now I’m filled with a new angst. My tub grown potatoes are waist high. There isn’t a flower to be seen. Why is it that everyone else’s are flowering….[eeeeeek!!!!!] ????

    Yours, in trepidation,
    Kathryn

Hi Danny! I’ve just stumbled on the latest from Cottage Smallholder. I do hope Fiona is feeling much better and enjoyed that delicious dinner – can’t think of any better medicine.

Well thank you everybody for your kind comments and virtual get-well cards. Fiona is astonished and quite gratified that you all took the time and effort to wish her well.
She is better today and was able to venture into the beautiful June sunshine here in the UK. This evening I will tempt her appetite with a roast poussin with all the trimmings – roast potatoes, crispy bacon, bread sauce, with carrot and broccoli on the side, all slathered in a lovely gravy. Hope your tongues are drooling at this point!

I ain’t a saint (that’s a cool slogan, don’t you think? Gives me an idea for a new range of Cottage Smallholder wrist straps!) and payback time will come later once I have racked up enough brownie points. Don’t let her know that, though 🙂

    Get well soon Fiona!
As to the potatoes Danny- the thing NOT to do is get over excited and dig them too soon as they will be all leaf and no tuber- yes, you guessed it, made that mistake last year…

Thank you for letting us know about Fiona, Danny. Please pass on my best wishes; I hope she is fully recovered very soon.

  10. So sorry to hear that Fiona is ill at the moment. Your loss is the MinPins gain as they must be in heaven snuggled up in bed! Please tell her that we are thinking about her and wishing her a speedy recovery. x
