Fiona is ill and her daily posts have been interrupted

Hello, everybody – it’s Danny here.

Fiona has been ill for the past few days and I have confined her to bed, with many cups of tea ( omygawd, she is such a demanding patient! )

No, that last bit is just a joke. Almost J

Her blog will be three years old in August and she has recently posted her 1,000th article. That is a great achievement, to her credit. So please excuse her now for missing a few days. Her laptop is also languishing – crashing after half an hour.

Then again, she has divulged her password to me, so maybe I will have some fun!

Maybe she has swine flu? Possibly. But you know that it could be a combination of avian flu and swine flu.

Yes?

Pigs might fly !!!!

OK, I will get my coat .  . . . . . .

PS: my spuds are now twice the size of John Coe’s.

What should I do ????

I’ve been wondering why the site hasn’t been updating in my google reader… Thanks for volunteering to be the link in the information chain, Danny. Please give her regards and wishes for a speedy recovery from a lurker.

I’ve been living vicariously through Fiona’s gardening posts for a few months now and have enjoyed a few of her recipes. My ability to convert between “real world” and American measurements has gotten better thanks to Fiona!

  2. Hi Danny,
Lots of love to Fiona and hope she is well soon.

Potatoes…can’t help you there I’m afraid as I was going to ask for help from you.
My potatoes are just flowering and I wanted to know when I can harvest them as you see I rely on Fiona for all that information.

You’ve done a good job though!
    with love, Heidi x

    Thanks Danny,
1000 posts is indeed an achievement. Get well soon Fiona, so we can all celebrate your 3rd anniversary. (It was your blog which inspired me to start mine – and it’s still inspiring.)
    With love, Sally

“Spuds twice the size of John Coe’s”….?! No need to boast about your manliness, now, Danny…!! 😉 Must be the magic of the Irish making ’em grow. I conjured up a Potato Gelato for the Pembrokeshire Potato Festival, the other week; not only did it prove very popular at the Festival (as it was actually very yummy!) but it achieved us notoriety of sorts; with a double-page spread in the Welsh newspaper the Western Mail & articles in four tabloids, last weekend. I should have mentioned – I even did an interview on Radio Cambridgeshire last Monday; I’m sure Fiona would’ve hooted with laughter if she’d heard. Perhaps they do a ‘Listen Again’ programme? Laughter is supposed to be the best form of medicine, after all! Failing that chicken soup & a hot toddy (not necessarily in the same bowl).

So sorry to hear that Fiona unwell & hope she is soon fully recovered – please pass on very best wishes from all of us here at the LittleFfarm Dairy Mayhem Menagerie.

Meanwhile it’s great that you’re looking after her, so well; & keeping us all entertained, to boot. Perhaps you can post up a recipe for chicken soup…?!

Amyway – best wishes to you both, & to the Min Pins & hens. Not sure about a photo of your spuds, though….!!

Big hugs to Fiona — I hope she can snuggle up to the Min Pins and sip tea till she feels completely well again.

Bravo Danny, keep looking after her — and we are all waiting for a photo of those spuds!

  6. Hope she is on the mend very soon. I thought her laptop had completely given up!!!
    Well done for stepping in!!!
I’ve only got 5 potato plants in a barrel grower but they are just flowering….

Hope you are feeling better soon Fiona. It is so horrible been confined to bed when the sun is shinning and calling you out. And good for you Danny for being such a good carer, LOL and my spud plants are now over 5 ft tall, think they fell from Jack’s pocket, don’t know what they are doing underground yet though.

    Dear Fiona,

hope you are feeling much better soon. You are very brave letting Danny loose with your password.

Chicken stock made from the bones etc…from my version of your St Clements roasted chook recipe went into tonight’s risotto, as did the left over gravy – great success.

Snuggle up to those Min Pins and keep on with the tea.

Danny – well done, ……. so far. Pleased you are still in a happy place regarding your spuds. Now cook a good roast today to help Fiona heal.

Love and huggles to you all,

Michelle and Zebbycat, xxxxx and purrrrrrumbling

  9. Get well soon! I love your daily comments .

  10. Fiona – so sorry you are poorly. Get well soon. Have you caught a virus from your laptop?

Danny – what to do? Buy a bigger hat!
